Be a comedian for more than 20 years, I can honestly say that I've made in worst places and the best places in the country. I will concentrate on the best places because I think comedy should be a happy event and not a downer. What makes a successful and fun comedy club is the right choice. It is all about the atmosphere, seat agreement and above all, the factor of privacy. Comedy is an intimate environment that always works better in smaller places 400 seats or less. Larger venue, younger crowd is part of the experience. I think that small theatres and comedy clubs are the best, especially for a worker in the crowd as I. With all that said, here's my list:
My favorite all-time comedy venues 1 (NYC,_NY) club: this Original Improv was the scope of comedy clubs. The first and truly the best. It was nice and small, about 100 seats, intimate and had such an aura of him. When you were at that stage, we knew that the likes of George Carlin, Richard Pryor, Lenny Bruce and anyone who can think of comedy, had acted before.What a great place it fue.Echo as expensive and owner, la Plata, Friedman was great for me.?
rascal Comedy Club(Ocean Township, NJ) - this became the basis of my home for many years and is a club of comedy perfecto.Celebraron approximately 225 seats comfortably and there was an evil in the House. It is a rectangular room with stage one of the long walls, so that every seat was near the stage.
rascal Comedy Club(West Orange, New Jersey) - this was a great club 400 seats that was on the floor below an excellent restaurant (Miss Francais chicken) and she was the flagship of the Rascal The string. Used to do a comedy TV Show there every Thursday night called "De Rascal Comedy Hour" and was so divertido.Cabeza poster being myself, never get to see another poster head unless we are all in the same Bill, making a profit of some kind.But with the television show, was the Musical Director and writer for the show and I got all the world see appeared on every semana.Realmente I had a blast and the show lasted for about 9 years.
Strand Theatre (Lakewood, NJ) - what a wonderful milestone and a great place to perform since renewed it makes approximately 7 years. the acoustics is incredible and is just the right size for a theatre to perform comedy.
5. The of Uncle Vinny / Ferrara (Point Pleasant, NJ) - this is a new club and has only been open for approximately 1 and a half years.Reminds me of the original with your intimacy only around 100 Improv plazas.También is a large restaurant and owners, Dino & Jerry, are a pleasure to work.
Stop comedy at The TropAtlantic City (New Jersey) - what an estupendo.Es place as a mini theatre around 250 seats with the aura of a comedian loves to perform in all casino showroom. The room since then has been moved to the new wing of neighborhood above and is a bit bigger and even better than before. Great atmosphere.
Catch A Rising Star at the Hyatt (Princeton, NJ) another perfect scenario for comedy.Only around of 180 seats and nice and near the etapa.Todas views do not have any obstructions and is located in a beautiful hotel.
Bill Penn (Jim Thorpe, PA) - this is one of the most unique places that I never did.Resembles a chalet 1800 seat giant at the top of a mountain and that is basically what it is. On my list of honorable mentions are Jokers Wild in New Haven, CT, Catch A Rising Star at Resorts in Atlantic City, New Jersey, The Rail Sekonk Brass, MA, East Side Comedy Club of Huntington, New York Comedy Club in The Bowman in Carney, MD, The Comedy Stop At The Tropicana in Las Vegas, Nevada, Comedy Club in Scranton & Wilkes-Barre, Pennsylvania, Komedy Konkoma Ronkonkoma, New York, The Music Box Theater in the Borgata in Atlantic City, New Jersey, Zanies in Chicago, Illinois, the College of DuPage in Tracy Wisecracker Illinois, who had the perfect state of the art theatre I never saw in a school.
